About The Role
As Management Accountant, you will take full ownership of several UK-based legal entities, producing monthly accounts and ensuring that each can withstand the scrutiny of a year-end audit. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the financial control and compliance within these entities, requiring a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy. It's vital that the successful applicant can demonstrate strong integrity and maintain a culture of financial control, ensuring that all financial information reported is accurate and reliable.
Key Responsibilities
1. Take ownership of monthly accounting and financial control for several UK-based legal entities.
2. Complete end-of-month accounting procedures in line with Group policies and timelines.
3. Manage intercompany reconciliations and work with cross-entity accountants to ensure all intercompany accounts are balanced.
4. Support operational accounting activities, including journal preparation and maintaining accurate monthly balance sheet reconciliations for accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets.
5. Investigate and resolve unreconciled items in data sets.
6. Challenge existing processes and identify areas for improvement.
7. Build relationships with internal stakeholders, including finance team colleagues.
8. Understand the internal control environment and identify and escalate risk areas.
9. Support year-end procedures, including the delivery of statutory accounts and tax returns.
10. Contribute to the company's statutory audit.
11. Assist in delivering various projects, such as revenue recognition methodology and group restructuring.
About You
12. Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
13. Experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
14. Strong technical accounting skills.
15. Proven capability to drive change and performance, identifying issues, and suggesting improvements.
16. Proficiency in Excel and various accounting software programs.
17. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
18. Ability to operate independently and collaboratively.
19. Inquisitive nature with a proactive approach.
20. Flexible, can-do attitude.
21. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
22. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
