SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster
Salary Scale: £90 - £110 per day
Start Date: ASAP
GSL Educationis currently seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to undertake a position at one of our client schools in Doncaster.
Job Summary: A SEMH Teaching Assistant will work with students with special educational needs in schools play a vital role in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments, promoting the well-being and academic success of all students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
* Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans and Behavior Support Plans to address specific student needs.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
* Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.
* Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to the teaching team as needed.
The successful candidate will:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
* A positive attitude, patience, and resilience in the face of challenges.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
* Relevant qualifications or training in education, psychology, or a related would be advantageous.
