Job Description
* Demonstrate leadership and commitment to HSEQ. Actively encourage and lead the HZI and contractor teams to implement and comply with project HSEQ requirements.
* Ensure all relevant HSEQ requirements are incorporated into commissioning in consultation with site management, HSE, and the Commissioning team, and that HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated.
* Review risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) regarding HSEQ requirements, ensuring work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS.
* Be responsible for the safety and HSE performance of all personnel under your control and for stopping work if safety is compromised.
* Ensure commissioning activities within your area are executed according to contract, project timelines, and budgets.
* Lead commissioning efforts within your area, ensuring work conforms to contract requirements, approved drawings, standards, and project constraints.
* Supervise and verify contractor commissioning works concerning timelines, HSEQ, and compliance with standards.
* Coordinate with project team members, including the Commissioning Manager, Erection Supervisors, HSE, and Commercial departments, regarding project delivery, costs, quality, and safety.
* Maintain regular communication with engineering counterparts.
* Coordinate subcontractor and vendor activities on-site, ensuring efficient task performance and resource availability.
* Perform required tests on-site as per plant and equipment functional descriptions.
* Coordinate with third-party authorities for testing requirements.
* Maintain records in the PIRS database and ensure documentation is up to date.
* Record and archive all quality assurance documents related to commissioning activities.
* Provide progress reports and staffing updates.
* Share lessons learned and feedback for current and future projects.
* Keep the Commissioning Manager/Site Manager informed of all activities.
* Interface with third parties and external bodies as necessary.
Qualifications
* Experienced Mechanical or Process Engineer with over 5 years of experience.
* Proven experience in commissioning Power Waste to Energy plants and Flue Gas Treatment (FGT).
* Leadership experience in HSEQ management, with knowledge of relevant legal requirements.
* Experience with LOTO/Permit to Work systems.
* Valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC) or equivalent.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
* Solution-oriented mindset.
* Strong planning and presentation skills.
* Ability to evaluate and incorporate ideas from others.
* Excellent command of English; additional languages are advantageous.
