Teaching Assistants - Behaviour Support (Primary & Secondary)
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants with experience supporting children or adults who display challenging behaviour. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students' mental health and helping to create a nurturing, supportive learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one or small group sessions for students, focusing on coping strategies, emotional regulation, and self-care techniques.
- Assist in the development and implementation of personalised educational plans for students with mental health needs.
- Monitor and report on students' progress, maintaining clear communication with teachers and other staff.
- Ensure confidentiality and adherence to privacy, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the teacher in managing classroom behaviour and addressing the specific needs of students.
- Team Teach trained, or willing to complete a 2-day Team Teach training course.
- Experience working with children or adolescents in educational or mental health settings; we also welcome applicants with relevant experience supporting adults.
- A solid understanding of mental health issues affecting students, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with students and collaborate effectively with staff.
- Resilience under pressure, with the capacity to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively.
- Commitment to professional development, staying informed about best practices in mental health support for students.
- Clear understanding of safeguarding protocols, with the ability to respond to concerns swiftly and appropriately.
This position follows school term times, with working hours from 08:30 to 15:30. Successful candidates may work with either Primary or Secondary students depending on placement.

All pay rates are inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. While this is a temporary role, there may be opportunities to transition to a permanent position.
