An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and inspirational pharmacist to join our expanding pharmacy team.
We are looking for a dedicated pharmacist that will provide clinical expertise and leadership within the pharmacy service to ensure a high level of pharmaceutical input and delivery of a high-quality antimicrobial stewardship service across the site. In post, you will be an integral part of the MDT, promoting antimicrobial stewardship to a complex cohort of patients and play a vital role in the training of pharmacy, medical, and nursing staff on antimicrobial use within the field. The post holder will have significant clinical experience and strong interpersonal skills, ideally with specialist-level antimicrobial stewardship work experience.
You must hold a Master of Pharmacy degree or equivalent and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and will have completed a post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy.
You will be expected to undertake Emergency Duty Commitment (on-call), work weekends, and bank holidays as part of a rota.
Main duties of the job
As an Antimicrobial pharmacist, the duties would include:
1. Working closely with Consultant microbiologists and the Interface/Formulary pharmacist to review the antibiotic formulary and local evidence-based antimicrobial guidelines for optimal and cost-effective prescribing in primary and secondary care.
