As we continue to grow, we are seeking a pro-active, enthusiastic and ambitious Development Brewer to join our dynamic team.
Job Purpose
The Development Brewer will work closely with the innovation team to assist with the development and improvement of new and existing products. The role will involve contributing to new product development with some hands-on brewing, distilling, laboratory work and the management of trial reporting, with the role-holder being part of a passionate and innovative team in a growing business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a passion for brewing and distilling to develop a career in the industry by gaining exposure to all aspects of the brewing process, from grain to glass, and developing their knowledge, skills and expertise in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Brewing and Distilling Development: Assist in all aspects of the brewing and distilling development process, including NPD, malt milling, mashing, mash filtration, boiling, fermentation, distilling, conditioning, Evaporation and packaging.
* Recipe Development: Collaborate with the Technical Innovations Manager in the creation and refinement of brewing recipes, bringing fresh ideas and creativity to the table.
* Trial Reporting: Write reports and maintain records of all trials carried out
* Learning and Development: Take advantage of on-the-job training and development opportunities to build brewing knowledge and skills.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the brewing team, as well as other departments such as marketing and sales, to contribute to the overall success of the projects.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: Degree in Brewing, Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
* Desirable: Prior experience in a food related environment/food science role, such as an internship or part-time role.
* Desirable: A food science qualification.

* A passion for brewing/distilling and a strong desire to pursue a career in the industry.
* Basic understanding of brewing/distilling processes and principles.
* A good problem solver who can work creatively.
* An ability to learn quickly coupled with some calculated risk taking.
