Job Description We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Production Operator to join us at Smiths Detection on site, at our UK Hemel Hempstead location. This position is part of a production team of 60 people, amongst the wider population of 250 employs across other functions, based at the Hemel site Successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical assembly and/or testing of a range of product types as part of a production team which manufactures high quality electronic components and finished products. We are looking for someone with experience of working in an engineering production environment with strong attention to detail and demonstrable fine manual dexterity. Must work well within a team environment and possess the ability to work independently too. What you'll do - Performing assembly and or testing of sub – assemblies, final assemblies and small / miniature assemblies by following written work instructions, and schematic diagrams, and Production testing procedures Checking quality of own work produced in accordance with Smiths Detection quality standards before handing unit off to next production cycle Contributing to troubleshooting and continuous improvement of production tasks and processes Performing relevant tests and other processes as part of the defined production workflow Assisting the production team with other assembly work as required Complying with and promoting all relevant legal requirements & Smiths policies and procedures, including business ethics, data protection and health & safety
