Remuneration: payment of £21,678 per year pro rata and recruitment and retention payment of £21,678 per year pro rata
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist in Broadmoor Hospital.
In 2019, we moved into the new hospital, which provides a modern, state-of-the-art, high secure facility for patients from across London and southern England that meets national and local policy requirements. The environment is safe and secure in relation to protection of the public, visitors, staff and patients. It is designed to maximise the delivery of modern clinical care.
We are seeking a forensic psychiatrist who is enthusiastic, focused on providing high quality care for patients, has proven clinical and leadership skills, and is able to manage highly complex patients in a high secure setting. In recognition of the skills required, the post attracts a £21,678 recruitment and retention payment.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician for patients on an ISAT (Increased Support and Assertive Treatment Ward) (full time). The post holder will work with a multidisciplinary team and will provide clinical leadership to the team. The post holder will also be expected to take on other leadership roles within the hospital.
Candidates must have full GMC registration and have a CCT in Forensic Psychiatry/General Adult Psychiatry (with significant experience in forensic psychiatry) or be within 6 months of completion of training or be eligible for inclusion on the specialist register at the time of interview.
