We are recruiting an Accountant / Senior Finance Officer to join the Children’s Services finance team. The role will support Children’s Social Care, so candidates must have experience with CSC placements to hit the ground running. The accountant will support the significant service transformation to ensure that the current overspend is managed and mitigated while supporting the delivery of the saving programme and looking for qualified and experienced individuals only. Responsibility The primary duties will be actively monitoring budgets and ensuring value is added. This will include explaining the financials in simple terms, providing challenges, supporting the development of mitigations, and presenting information to senior colleagues. Qualification – Essential GCSEs or equivalent to include Maths and English CCAB qualified or hold an appropriate equivalent qualification. Significant work experience, or work towards a relevant qualification. Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, social media and Mosaic CRM. Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Requirements - Criteria-to be Tested at Shortlisting. Financial modelling and appraisal. Candidates must have strong and proven financial modelling and analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Ability to communicate complex messages confidently but with compassion and tact. Line management experience managing two assistant accountants. Proven knowledge of operating in a complex multidisciplinary organisation, programmes and projects, financial and people management. Significant experience in administering and maintaining the financial module of the Mosaic Care Management System and confident in using the Admin Tool. Experience using external software such as Excel to enhance the data available from Mosaic and provide senior managers and external organisations with information in an appropriate format. Experience troubleshooting within the Mosaic environment and providing solutions to resolve identified issues. Experience using integrated financial systems and specifically the systems relationship between Mosaic, Oracle and ECM.
