As a Stores Team Leader, you will be an integral part of the Inventory and Stock Control area within the Commercial Directorate. You will support the store’s management team in delivering an efficient and effective stores service across the Agency. You will also play a key role in leading the Stores Team, providing expert advice, guidance, and support to ensure smooth operations.
Your responsibilities will include liaising with customers, suppliers, and colleagues to uphold high standards of customer service, whilst also ensuring the timely and accurate receipting of stock from suppliers. You will oversee the documentation of goods received and facilitate their distribution to both internal and external customers. This will include managing the inventory stock control system (SAP), ensuring compliance with DVLA stock requirements.
Additionally, you will be responsible for the safe operation of mechanical handling equipment, machinery, and other work-related tools provided by the DVLA, ensuring strict adherence to Health and Safety regulations. In order to maintain operational efficiency, you will also conduct audits, compile reports, and provide key statistics to support the Stores Manager’s Office.
This role will require you to work on-site across both DVLA Main Site and Ty-Felin.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Leading the Team of Stores Support staff (AA’s) providing advice, support, guidance and direction as necessary.
* Supervising and organising specific areas of DVLA Warehouses on a rota basis, and organising quarantine of stock destruction and disposal.
* Maintaining the integrity of high security stock in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
* Reporting and recording all accidents, incidents, near misses, damage or faults to any vehicle or equipment and advisinf the Manager’s office (Inc. traffic offences).
* Adhering to Data Protection, Security, COSHH, Health and Safety policies and being able to evidence they are complied with. (E.g. Vehicle and equipment checks).
