We are seeking a Shift Plant Operator to support our operations in Leicester. The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling and monitoring all operations on plant, completing regular checks on equipment, relaying the information to Shift Team leader.

Description
1. Report and monitor performance, by operating the plant turbine, boilers, and coordinate incoming and outgoing waste.
2. Maintain steady control by measuring temperature flow, pressure readings from the turbine/boiler, control systems and gauges.
3. Accurately report readings and log daily operations in the shift log for continued monitoring and shift changeovers.
4. Effectively react to planned and unplanned (i.e. emergency) repairs, blockages and changes in the plant central systems.
5. Promptly react to system alarms/protocols to secure areas of the plant if/as required.
6. Monitor all areas of the plant from the control room, including operating the overhead crane for the systematic removal of waste and accessing all areas of the plant (from height to ground levels) to check instruments, gauges, and take readings.
7. Fulfil the role of Plant Attendant if/when required, including loading and unloading of vehicles, and use of the Fork Lift Truck (FLT) for the fitting and removal of Big Bags.
8. Ensure plant cleaning schedules are fulfilled to a satisfactory standard.
9. Work at height and in confined spaces.
Profile
A successful candidate will have:
1. Preferably a hands-on operator/engineer with good experience in the Energy from Waste, Biomass, Power Station, Steam boilers, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Marine industries.
2. Sound understanding of process flow.
3. Experience of monitoring via SCADA.
4. Effective worker, with a 'can do' attitude.
5. Good numeracy skills, including the ability to interpret basic spreadsheets.
6. Appropriate IT skills (confident use of Word, Excel etc.).
7. Good knowledge of Incineration and Power or similar industry.
8. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with colleagues, suppliers.
Job Offer
Shift pattern 4on 4off for 7 weeks then 2 weeks break.
A competitive salary in the range of £40,000 - £41,000 per annum, DOE.
