Work 3 days a week from Leeds HQ. The National Wealth Fund will expand UKIB's remit beyond infrastructure, building on its success over the last three years. With £27.8bn, the Fund will catalyse private investment in the market.
The Assistant Director will focus on complex infrastructure transactions, providing equity, debt or guarantees. The role holder will have a strong equity background with experience in infrastructure or complex financial settings.
The role holder will support the Director, deputising as necessary, in negotiating documentation and driving due diligence and approval processes. They will act as an ambassador for local and regional growth and the Net Zero transition.
* Support Directors in external market engagement with investors, developers, banks and industry players.
* Assist in the origination and screening of potential projects and make recommendations to the investment committee.
* Work as a proactive member of deal teams, deputising for the Director when required, in the structuring, negotiation and due diligence process.
* Support the NWF in its policy initiatives by utilising the NWF's full product suite.
* Support the Portfolio Team with deal and market knowledge on closed projects.
* Interface with colleagues across the organisation to share industry knowledge and experience.
* Proactively maintain and build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Act as a role model and mentor for junior team members.
Demonstratable experience in infrastructure or complex financing or investment gained through lending, investment, advisory or asset management roles.
Financially astute with deep knowledge of market terms, transactions and participants.
Strong analytical, presentation and numeracy skills.
Commercially astute with evidence of negotiation skills developed from involvement in complex transactions.
Demonstrate confidence in building relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Skilled in understanding and digesting complex information and data as part of a due diligence process.
Skilled communicator including strong written/report writing skills.
