Our client is a leading manufacturer providing specialist solutions to a variety of industries such as aerospace, power generation, rail, and oil and gas industries. They are looking for an experienced IT Manager to support 4 international manufacturing plants.
Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Take control of day-to-day running of the IT department.
2. Control installations and maintenance of current IT systems and network infrastructure.
3. Plan future requirements.
4. Take full responsibility for installation and maintenance of Windows core datacentre 2019 servers.
5. Build and operate virtual servers in a Hyper-V environment.
6. Maintain a hybrid environment between on-premise servers and Microsoft Azure.
7. Provide strategic technical input into the company's future plans and direction utilizing technology as a key enabler.
8. Challenge the status quo to ensure a continual upgrade path to best practice is achieved.
9. Maintain and operate Fortigate firewalls and VPN connections between other sites worldwide.
10. Maintain backups utilizing Veeam and Datto.
11. Install, update, and maintain the Company's ERP, T & A, financial, and accounting software.
12. Maintain the Wi-Fi environment across all sites.
13. Manage the internal network using layer 3 switches.
14. Support internal web servers and intranet.
15. Manage and configure Office 365 functionality including Teams voice.
16. Maintain contracts for mobile and desktop phones.
17. Setup and maintain SQL databases as required.
18. Provide support and advice to inter-site users as needed.
19. Manage relationships with key suppliers ensuring best value and service.
Experience / Skills:
Supervisory/management experience within an IT support environment. Ability to lead, direct, supervise, train, and develop the support team. Technical skills should include but not be limited to: Microsoft Azure setup and management, firewall setup and management, knowledge of layer 2 and 3 switch configuration, SQL database management. IT experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable although not essential, as is experience with ERP systems.
Specialist Training Required:
No specialist training requirements, although the postholder must demonstrate a willingness to be involved in training regarding any new developments, as appropriate.
Aptitude/Skill Required:
This role demands a highly proactive approach in a changing and dynamic environment. The ICT manager will regularly service internal clients and their systems. The postholder will show a desire to be involved in new developments as they affect IT and associated parts of the business. The postholder must demonstrate the ability to 'hold their own' with managers and supervisors from other parts of the business while getting along with all levels of users. Ability to maintain a confidential service to other managers is essential.

Working hours: 39 per week, 8:00 to 16:45 Monday to Thursday, 8:00 to 15:45 on Friday
