At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Supervisor to join the Data Center Power & Control Division Starline Team in Reading, UK. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for all activity of the inventory management and acts as the expert for inventory accuracy inclusive of cycle counts and auditing, receiving processes, kitting creation and distribution and warehouse operations inclusive of the personnel who perform them. They must model high standards of conduct and lead by example according to Legrand’s values. This position is responsible for ensuring that direct problem solving to mitigate inventory flow constraints through direct intervention is taken. The Supervisor will ensure that safety, quality, productivity and efficiency goals are met by closely monitoring operational metrics, identifying areas of improvement and taking appropriate action. What Will You Do? Promote and lead of all aspects of health, safety and risk management within production. Ensuring that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift in line with Legrand’s health and safety policies. Maintains stock accuracy and associated data, identifies stock discrepancies deriving root cause/corrective actions to address cause(s). Responsible for proper utilization of Syteline/Dispatch/Esker and other company software in support of production. Maintain high employee morale. Manage, develop and motivate direct and indirect reporting staff. Models high standards of conduct and leadership. Lead Legrand team members to deliver inventory requirements on-time according to company polices. Supervise Legrand team members according to Legrand leadership development training. Lead and manage assigned warehouse processes utilizing the Legrand Way ‘Tier’ meetings. Responsible for ensuring that all output meets departmental standards of safety, quality, efficiency, 5S and budgetary (parts, scrap, etc.) goals. Ensure the team is trained to be successful in current role and make recommendations for any professional development employees may need. Evaluate and make recommendations on hiring decisions. Identifies individual performance opportunities and make recommendations for improvement while ensuring implementation of those improvements. Writes and delivers performance appraisals and makes recommendations for merit increases Manages employee staffing levels and adjust as needed when last minute call offs occur or priorities change, escalate as needed. Coordinate with Quality Technician for engineering updates and employee training. Manage all shifts for success and provide an orderly, well documented shift transition plan. Work with other department supervisors to maintain a productive relationship between shifts and manage handovers effectively. Have an active role in the company’s continuous improvement plans for future growth of the organization. Liaison between front line employees and all levels of management; key point of contact for all warehouse related communications. Professionally conduct employee corrective action after review with management. Identify and resolve operational issues in conjunction with the frontline supervisor and Human Resources. Adhere to all company policies, guidelines and practices including the values. Identifies individual performance opportunities and make recommendations for improvement while ensuring implementation of those improvements. Writes and delivers performance appraisals. Manages employee staffing levels and adjust as needed when last minute call offs occur or priorities change, escalate as needed. Provide input into departmental budget. Other duties as assigned by management. Required Skills Education: GSCE/NVQ or equivalent. 2 years of supervisory experience required, experience supervising in a warehouse setting strongly preferred. 5 years of manufacturing experience preferred. Experience supervising in a $50M company. Prior experience training and developing work teams and individuals. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Good written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts, including 5S. Team building skills including ability to resolve conflict while maintaining harmonious work environment. Proficiency using MS Outlook, Word, and Excel. Working knowledge of ERP/MRP (Infor Syteline preferred) and inventory flow/control. Proven ability to lead teams while achieving goals. Proven ability to develop individuals and teams. Proven ability to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Able to operate forklifts and other warehousing equipment as defined as PIV. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Required exposure to manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
