Job summary We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join our friendly team of Clinical Pharmacy Technicians at Heartlands Hospital. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering a high-quality medicines optimisation services, ensuring the safe and effective use of medication for patients. You will work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to support patient care, enhance medication safety, and improve service efficiency within the hospital's discharge lounge. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to assessing and managing medication supplies, providing guidance to patients on their prescriptions, supporting clinical teams, and contributing to medicines management within the discharge lounge. You will also have opportunities to engage in training, mentoring, and service development projects. In addition, you will also support the main pharmacy dispensary team. We are looking for a registered pharmacy technician (GPhC) with relevant experience in a hospital or clinical setting, strong organisational skills, and a passion for patient-centred care. Main duties of the job With a patient-focused approach, you will: - Support the pharmacy department in the provision of complete pharmaceutical care to patients. - Deliver a high-quality ward-based medicines optimisation service to the cardiology department at Heartlands Hospital. - Act as a role model and provide training and mentoring to junior staff members. - Support the main pharmacy dispensary where required. - Carry out accuracy checking commitments. Key Person Specification Requirements: - A nationally recognised pharmacy technician qualification and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. - Currently practicing as a registered pharmacy technician with at least one year's post-qualification experience - A nationally recognised accredited accuracy checking qualification. - A professional attitude with the ability to motivate self and others. - The ability to remain calm under pressure. - A flexible approach and commitment to accommodate the needs of the service. - A strong attention to detail. - Strong communication skills. - Experience working as a clinical pharmacy technician or similar capacity.
