Job summary St Clare Hospice is a charity that provides specialist palliative care to patients and families in West Essex and the East Hertfordshire borders. With limited NHS funding, we need to raise more than 70% of our annual costs to provide our vital services; in 2024/25 the running costs are expected to be £7.3 million. We therefore rely on our local community to help us raise money each year so we can continue being there for local families facing one of the most difficult journeys in life. This role is for someone who has proven leadership skills, enjoys managing projects and developing new processes. Pooling reports and regular audit of system usage is key to this role, ensuring consistency and integrity of data outputs. Main duties of the job The Clinical Database Manager is responsible for the operational use of the database by all clinical staff and the strategic use of the system alongside partner providers. The database used by St Clare is SystmOne, and the organisation requires the successful applicant to support and develop new processes and structures to manage this system whilst supporting staff to use it optimally. Pooling reports both regularly and ad hoc is also a key component of the role to ensure that we are committed to the model of intelligent data informing our practice. Leadership skills are required to ensure effective use of the system and aid understanding of the impact of data entry on system outputs.
