The role
This role combines hands-on expertise in designing and producing detailed drawing packages with the responsibility of managing and improving the team’s CAD systems; enhancing workflows and contributing to the team’s success.
As part of your role, you will oversee the installation, upgrades, and implementation of CAD software, provide training across the team, and troubleshoot software-related issues to ensure seamless project delivery. In addition to technical responsibilities, you will be working on projects that focus on sustainability working alongside a friendly and diverse team, fostering innovation and growth in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities
* Develop and produce detailed construction drawing packages using Autodesk Software (AEC Collection).
* Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet project requirements and standards.
* Ensure accuracy and quality of all CAD deliverables.
* Support the surveyors and engineers in technical aspects of projects.
* Represent the department internally and to clients.
* Manage the installation, configuration and upgrades of CAD software and tools.
* Lead the implementation of new CAD workflows, ensuring best practices are followed.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting CAD-related issues, resolving technical problems quickly and effectively.
* Organise and provide training sessions for team members on CAD systems, ensuring proficiency across the team.
* Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for CAD processes and software use.
* Stay up to date with industry trends and new technologies, recommending improvements or upgrades as needed.
* Measure and optimise the performance, accuracy and functionality of current systems.
* Identify and solve any problems or errors.

* Expertise in software packages included in the everyday management and support for the team – Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Vehicle tracking, CADS RC, Tekla Tedds and Robot.
* Strong technical aptitude, to adapt, develop and customize CAD software through scripting, such as using AutoLISP.
* Effective problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and support team members.
* Strong organizational and project management skills.
* Knowledge and experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling) and 3D modelling tools.
* Proven experience in CAD design, ideally within Infrastructure or similar industries.
* Experience in managing CAD systems, including installation, software upgrades, and troubleshooting.
* Experience in providing training and support to CAD teams.
