An arborist, tree surgeon or arboriculturist works in the cultivation, management and study of individual trees, shrubs, vines and other woody plants.
Training, Qualifications and Skills
Minimum requirements:
* Level 3 City and Guilds Diploma in General Horticulture
* Level 3 City and Guilds Diploma in Forestry and Arboriculture
* Level 3 City and Guilds Extended Diploma in Forestry and Arboriculture
* Specialist Certificate in Arboriculture
* Work-based/on-the-job training
* (for a climber) C&G/NPTC or Lantra Awards ‘Licence to Practise’ Level 2 qualifications (commonly known as ‘tickets’)
