Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Airport Planner to join our Transportation department, focusing on the planning and development of both small and large-scale airports. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in market research, forecasting, and the overall development of airport infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
1) Market Research and Forecasting
* Conduct market research and formulate various types of forecasts for airport business segments, including commercial airports, general aviation, and cargo operations.
* Assess and develop flight schedules based on forecasts.
2) Demand Analysis
* Analyze peak demand for terminal buildings on an hourly and daily basis.
* Develop airfield layout plans in compliance with international codes and standards, including ICAO and FAA guidelines, particularly applicable to the MENA region.
3) Capacity Assessment
* Assess the capacity of different runway configurations (dual/triple approach runways) and estimate taxi times.
* Develop requirements for ancillary buildings, including built-up areas and staffing needs.
4) Master Planning and Quality Assurance
* Manage, prepare, and ensure QA/QC of airport master plans and layout plans.
* Create alternative design standards for environmental assessments and site selection studies.
* Conduct aeronautical surveys, instrument approach feasibility studies, safety and security analyses, and benefit-cost analysis studies.
* Stay updated on FAA planning and design aspects.
5) Communication and Coordination
* Gather and analyze data, engage in technical writing, and prepare proposals.
* Participate in client meetings and presentations, coordinating effectively with airport authorities.
6) Leadership and Mentorship
* Supervise and manage junior staff throughout all stages of transport demand model production.
* Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and effective communication skills.
Requirements:
* Proven extended experience in airport planning and development.
* Proficiency in Aviation Simulation Tools (e.g., AviPLAN, AirTop, CAST, Capacity Modeling software for Terminal Building).
* Strong analytical, technical writing, and proposal preparation skills.
* Leadership experience, with a capability to mentor junior staff.
* Excellent communication and management abilities.
* Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
