Associate Pastor of Worship: Common Ground Church
Job Description:
Common Ground Christian Church (CGCC) is a growing non-denominational church (avg. attendance 250-270) located in rural Bradford, Ohio (pop. 2500). We are in the beginning phases of launching a capital campaign to build a new church. We have strong kids, students, and college age ministries. We strive to reach those far from God and engage believers through relational ministry and an outside-the-box approach.
We are seeking a full-time Worship Pastor with 0-7 years of experience. Our worship style is contemporary while still utilizing traditional elements. The dedicated and talented volunteer worship team consists of several singers, pianists, guitarists, bassists, and drummers.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide visionary and pastoral leadership for the worship team.
2. Work with the pastoral team to lead, grow, and care for the members and ministry of the church.
3. Plan and coordinate Spirit-led worship services for Sundays and special events.
4. Manage and oversee the annual budget and expenditures for the worship department.
5. Recruit, train, and equip a suitable base of volunteers.
6. Maintain and update all worship equipment/instruments as needed.
7. Be a devoted follower of Christ and become an active member of CGCC.
8. Demonstrate strong vocal and musical skills with a commitment to excellence.
9. View oneself as a pastor in addition to being an artist.
10. Be relational, teachable, passionate in leadership, and dedicated to shepherding and developing others.
11. Value teamwork and collaboration.
12. Lead primarily through influence rather than directive.
13. Demonstrate the ability to learn new software/technology and utilize it appropriately.
14. Maintain a presence in the life of the church in addition to assigned ministry programming.
