Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Garage Technician to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role will help us deliver world-class event builds and race equipment preparation, ensuring that everything meets our high standards for both technical precision and presentation.
As a Garage Technician, your key responsibilities will be:
* Event Preparation & Build: Assist with the preparation, loading/unloading, and assembly of event and race equipment, both at the Williams factory and at various events.
* Pit Equipment Management: Ensure the correct build and disassembly of pit equipment before and during events, meeting all technical and presentation specifications.
* Operational Support: Assist with key event tasks such as tyre/wheel management and car refuelling at race/test events.
* Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with the Race Logistics Manager, Event Logistics Manager, and Chief Garage Technician to meet event goals and maintain high standards.
* Proactive Issue Reporting: Identify and report faults or potential issues and collaborate on timely resolutions.
* Performance Improvement: Contribute to improving team operational performance and continuously enhance both personal and team efficiency.
* Pit Stop Involvement: Participate in race pit stops and associated training programs..
* Personal Standards & Presentation: Represent Williams with high standards of conduct and presentation, both in and out of the garage.
* Quality & Continuous Improvement: Focus on maintaining quality and continually identifying areas for improvement in both personal and department performance.
We are looking for a Garage Technician with the following skills and experience:
* Self-Motivated & Enthusiastic: A proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
* Independent & Responsible: A self-sufficient worker who is accountable for completing tasks and meeting objectives.
* Motorsport Experience: Essential experience as a garage technician in motorsport, ideally with expertise in Tyres, Fuel, or Electrical installation.
* Team Player: Collaborative and able to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Adaptability: Comfortable with flexible working hours, especially during event peak periods.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, able to build relationships and work cross-functionally.
* Attention to Detail: Exceptional eye for detail, capable of juggling multiple projects without compromising on quality.
* Technical Knowledge: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word), with the ability to manage administrative tasks and track event progress.
*In compliance with national Secure Freight Consigner conditions, five years’ continuous employment, education and/or training must be evidenced and ay gaps exceeding 28 days accounted for. A criminal record check will also be carried out. This will be explained in more detail during interview.
