As the Clinical Lead, you will lead our collaborative workstream, with clinicians from all our providers, to review and develop innovative clinical models and pathways tailored to the unique needs of our population. Your role will be crucial in shaping our services so we can meet the needs of our patients now and in the future, linking in with national forums and colleagues across the country. This role demands a forward-thinking approach, where you will work closely with clinical teams and stakeholders to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
We can offer a flexible base, but our team is based at Langdon Hospital in Devon. We have a regional footprint and this role may include travel across the South West with the flexibility to work via Microsoft Teams. You will be at the forefront of developing strategic initiatives, overseeing clinical excellence, and fostering collaborative relationships with a variety of professionals and organisations.

Main duties of the job
1. Leadership and Development: Lead the creation and implementation of innovative clinical models tailored to the unique needs of patients. This involves designing and refining clinical pathways and ensuring our providers are supported to integrate identified best practices in service delivery.
2. Strategic Oversight: Provide high-level clinical leadership and strategic direction, translating the overarching goals of the South West Provider Collaborative into actionable plans for service transformation.
3. Quality Assurance: Develop and oversee quality governance frameworks to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care. Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance patient outcomes and service efficiency.
4. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key representative for the Collaborative, engaging with internal teams, partner organisations, and national bodies. Participate in public forums, partnership meetings, and consultations to advocate for and advance child and adolescent mental health services.
5. Clinical Expertise: Provide expert clinical guidance and support to the Head of Service and the broader clinical team. Ensure that clinical practices are aligned with current research, evidence-based guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
6. Innovation and Improvement: Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, including the development and implementation of service model and the incorporation of feedback from patients and stakeholders.
Job description
The Clinical Lead for our Child and Adolescent Mental Health is accountable to the South West Provider Collaborative Deputy Medical Director.
The post holder is accountable for:
* leading the development of a transformational clinical model to address the assessed needs for the population of the south west
* leading the design and development of clinical pathways
* deputising for the South West Provider Collaborative Deputy Medical Director where considered appropriate for example at national meetings relating to the service line
The post holder will operate as the Senior Clinician within the South West Provider Collaborative for the purposes of advising on Child and Adolescent Mental Health services.
The post holder will be expected to translate the South West Provider Collaborative strategy into a clinical service strategy for the service line ensuring national/regional best practice is leveraged and there is alignment across other Provider Collaboratives and national plans.
They will be responsible for working with the Head of Service to operationalise and deliver the designed clinical model, clinical pathways and quality governance and assurance framework.
The post holder will provide clinical expertise and leadership to the Head of Service who is accountable for:
* Annual and multi-year service line business plan
* Day to day operational commissioning response
* Corporate business returns and monthly reporting
The post holder will work within the performance and management framework which governs the delivery of the South West Provider Collaborative's objectives as such the post holder is co-responsible for the sound stewardship of governance within the South West Provider Collaborative.
The post holder will represent the South West Provider Collaborative in a variety of contexts internally and externally including public forums and partnership meetings. They will be expected to work closely with colleagues from other Trusts and professions to ensure that people can access the service to meet their needs at the times they need it and to ensure the exploration of new ways of working to meet need.
