Site Manager Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Site Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the precision and quality of our projects, working closely with site teams, project managers, and subcontractors to achieve outstanding results.
Site Manager Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the full management of projects from start to finish.
* Ensure compliance with contract drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
* Coordinate with client representatives and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution.
* Work closely with contract managers and commercial teams to plan and schedule complex work, including forward planning for labour, plant, and materials.
* Manage materials, equipment, and staffing to maintain project progress.
* Oversee daily site operations, including plant and equipment management.
* Prepare and implement construction phase plans, risk assessments, and site safety protocols.
* Maintain accurate site records, including labour, plant, materials, daily diaries, and photographic documentation.
* Conduct site inductions, maintain timekeeping, and manage on-site personnel.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Liaise with the public and local businesses as required.
* Support the QS and Contracts Manager with records, financial reporting, and commercial information.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a site management role within civil engineering.
* Experience in Public Realm, Groundworks, Highways, and Drainage projects.
* Strong people management and organisational skills.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines with high attention to detail.
* Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and site surveying instruments (GPS, total stations, lasers, etc.).
* Proficiency in MS Project, Word, and Excel.
* Experience in financial management of costs and maintaining project records.
* Relevant qualifications (HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or similar field).
* CSCS, NRSWA, SMSTS, or equivalent certifications.
* Full UK driving licence.
