We offer an exciting opportunity to join our research programme spanning public health, epidemiology, economic analysis, and simulation modelling. In particular, we want the candidate to contribute to our modelling partnership with the Health Foundation's Research and Economic Analysis for the Long term (REAL) Centre, on healthcare systems demand modelling. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a flair for writing data analytics and ideally applying them to health, social or economic problem-solving, plus a proactive attitude to engage with the project. We will consider applications from other backgrounds if the applicant can show a good fit with the project. Our partnership with the Health Foundation's Research and Economic Analysis for the Long term (REAL) Centre aims to develop a model of demand for healthcare, based on the modelling of Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) incidence, prevalence, and key determinants (risk factors and social determinants). This will be part of a broad programme of work on future demand for and supply of healthcare in the UK, being led by the REAL Centre. You will be based in the Department of Public Health, Policy and Systems at the University of Liverpool, working directly with Dr. Chris Kypridemos, Professor Martin O'Flaherty, and colleagues from the NCD prevention and Food Policy Group. You will also work as part of the REAL Centre team based in London, linking the modelling activities across the two groups. The majority of the collaborative work will be conducted remotely, with occasional and flexible travel for face-to-face meetings in the future. In addition, you must be able to communicate well in written and verbal forms with a wide range of academic, policy, and professional audiences. You will have or be about to obtain a PhD with a substantial quantitative component or equivalent industry experience. This post is fixed term for 3 years, starting as soon as possible. Although the university has a hybrid working system, the expectation is that the successful applicant will work more than 50% on campus. Commitment to Diversity The University of Liverpool is committed to enhancing workforce diversity. We actively seek to attract, develop, and retain colleagues with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We welcome applications from all genders/gender identities, Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic backgrounds, individuals living with a disability, and members of the LGBTQIA community.
