Job Description
Exciting GP Opportunity at Sid Valley Practice in Sidmouth, Devon. We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a GP to join our friendly, energetic, and forward-thinking practice in Sidmouth, located on Devon’s stunning Jurassic Coast. Sidmouth, well-known for its annual Folk Festival, is a charming town surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty, just 30 minutes from Exeter. For those who love outdoor pursuits, Sidmouth offers easy access to Dartmoor for walking and biking, as well as the beautiful coastline and Cornwall. It’s the ideal location for those seeking a balanced lifestyle in a beautiful setting.
Role Overview:
This is a list-holding position open to both experienced GPs and newly qualified GPs, offering 6-8 sessions per week with flexibility to develop specialist interests. If you are new to General Practice, you will be a list-holder with comprehensive support and guidance to help you develop your skills and confidence in the role. There are also potential opportunities for partnership with property investment. Our modern and well-equipped practice features a new extension, including 2 surgical theatres, a duty hub, and private rooms. On-site parking is available for all staff. We are a CQC-rated "Good" training practice, committed to providing excellent care to our patients while maintaining a supportive and collaborative environment for our staff. Our multidisciplinary team includes doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, HCAs, and our PCN team, which offers support from pharmacy, physiotherapy, mental health and wellbeing, and care home teams. We also provide strong support from community teams, including district nursing, Urgent Community Response, and the Sidmouth Hospice at Home palliative care team.
What We Offer:
* Great Work-Life Balance: All face-to-face appointments are 15 minutes, with opportunities for routine pre-bookable appointments, phone consultations, and on-the-day duty appointments.
* Collaborative Environment: We hold regular clinical meetings to promote learning and encourage team participation, with a daily coffee break to connect and share ideas.
* Comprehensive Support: You’ll be supported by our dedicated duty team, consisting of ANPs and a duty PA, who manage patient queries and liaise with the community teams and emergency services. The duty team works from a dedicated hub, ensuring smooth and effective collaboration throughout the day.
* Specialist Training and Development: Our GPs have opportunities to engage in training, surgical services (including skin cancer, carpal tunnel, and minor surgery), as well as research. We provide one admin session per week for all list-holding doctors, with additional time allocated for extra responsibilities and training.
About Sidmouth and the Practice:
Sidmouth offers easy access to the seafront, local high street, and picturesque areas such as Dartmoor and Cornwall. It's perfect for those who enjoy walking, biking, or simply relaxing by the sea. The practice’s branch surgery is located in the Sidmouth Community Hospital, and both practice sites are easily commutable from Exeter and the surrounding areas. For aspiring trainees/teachers, Sidmouth benefits from its proximity to the local medical school, offering ample opportunities for education and development. Additionally, the practice is GP-owned and offers existing space for future expansion, including private business opportunities through room rental or additional services. This is an excellent opportunity for a new GP to join a growing practice with plenty of potential for future development.

* 1 week of study leave
* 1 session of protected time for clinical appraisals
