Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Level 2 Hardware Asset Management Engineer to join our onsite Desktop Support Services Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing hardware assets, deploying devices as part of the technology refresh program, and providing support for both laptops and corporate mobile devices. This role requires a strong understanding of asset management processes and excellent technical support skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Hardware Asset Management: Maintain accurate records of hardware assets, including laptops, desktops and corporate mobile devices. Ensure all assets are properly tagged, tracked, and managed throughout their lifecycle.
2. Device Deployment: Oversee the deployment of devices as part of the technology refresh program. This includes configuring, installing, and testing new hardware to ensure it meets company standards. Devices requiring remote dispatch would need to have labels printed and affixed to suitable packing while ensuring devices are packaged securely to avoid damage in transit.
3. Desktop Support Services: Where necessary, provide in-person Level 2 Desktop Support, applications, and related technology. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal disruption to end users.
4. Technology Refresh Program: Coordinate and execute the deployment of new devices, ensuring a smooth transition for end users. This includes data migration, software installation, and user training.
5. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of hardware assets. Ensure timely and accurate audits and replenishment of stock to meet operational needs.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, including Level 1 support, network administrators, and system engineers, to provide comprehensive support and resolve complex issues.
7. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of asset management processes, deployment procedures, and support activities. Ensure all records are up-to-date and easily accessible.
Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in hardware asset management and desktop support services.
3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in hardware troubleshooting, device configuration, and asset management software. Familiarity with Windows and macOS operating systems.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with end users, management, and technical staff.
5. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
6. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are preferred.
Working Conditions:
1. This position requires full-time onsite work and may involve occasional travel to other company locations.
2. This is not a hybrid role and work from home option is not available.
3. The role may require the lifting and moving of hardware equipment.
