We are seeking a skilled French Polisher & Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role is responsible for maintaining and restoring high-end wood finishes throughout the hotel, ensuring that all wooden surfaces, furniture, and fixtures are kept in pristine condition. Additionally, the role includes general maintenance duties, supporting the team through Hotsos to efficiently manage and resolve guest and operational requests. What you will do: French Polishing & Woodwork Maintenance: Restore and maintain wooden furniture, paneling, doors, and floors to a high standard. Carry out traditional French polishing, staining, and varnishing to match existing finishes. Repair scratches, scuffs, and other damages on wooden surfaces. Ensure all wooden fixtures meet luxury hotel standards. General Maintenance & Team Support: Respond to maintenance requests and repair needs as assigned through Hotsos. Conduct routine checks and maintenance of hotel fixtures and fittings. Assist in general engineering tasks, including minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work. Support the Engineering team in ensuring all areas of the hotel remain in excellent condition. Maintain a clean and organized workshop and keep records of repairs and materials used. What you bring: Proven experience as a French Polisher, ideally in a luxury hotel or high-end residential setting. Strong knowledge of wood finishing techniques, including staining, sanding, and varnishing. Experience in general hotel maintenance or facilities management is a plus. Ability to use Hotsos or similar maintenance request software. Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. A proactive and team-oriented approach to work.
