South Bucks Hospice is seeking a compassionate and forward-thinking individual to develop and drive our nursing service forward. The position holder will manage a small team of palliative care nurses and deputising for the Head of Clinical Services.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with at least 5 years experience. Previous experience and qualifications/training, in palliative care/oncology and management is most desirable.

Job responsibilities
To leadthe provision of specialist palliative care nursing at South Bucks Hospice as amember of the Clinical Leadership Team.
To overseeall aspects of the nursing services, including the management of the nursingteam, the department activities and operational requirements in line with CQCstandards through effective management, leadership and clinical expertise.
Leadon provision of high standards, audit and ethical practices with patients inline with their care plan.
To actin accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)Code of Conduct andin line with South Bucks Hospice (SBH) policies and procedures.
Toact as deputy, In the absence of the Head of Clinical Services.
Person Specification
Experience
* Good understanding of palliative and end of life nursing care
* Demonstrate a consistent high standard of work and attention to detail
* Basic computer skills including Excel and Word skills
* Punctual and presentable
* Approachable and accessible
* Willing to learn
* Communicate with empathy and understanding towards patients and staff
* Ability to listen and act appropriately
* Effective Communications with colleagues and Management team
* Calm temperament under pressured conditions
Qualifications
* Appropriate Nursing Qualification and minimum of two years experience within a similar position
* Post graduate qualification in palliative care or similar desirable
