About the role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Technician to join our Life Sciences department, working as part of the BBSRC sLoLa-funded MultiDefence consortium ( https://sites.exeter.ac.uk/multidefence/ ). You will be working as part of the Taylor lab group ( https://tiffanybtaylor.wordpress.com/ ) within a wider molecular microbiology lab, with numerous PhD, postdocs, research support staff as well as undergraduates and masters students. About you The ideal candidate will have experience in bacteria-phage culturing and assays, molecular engineering, microbial aseptic techniques, and conducting standard microbiology assays such as growth rate measurements, PFU/CFU quantification, PCR, and qPCR. Desirably, you will also have experience in fluorescent assays such as flow cytometry or FACS and some bioinformatic skills. You will play a key role in supporting experimental projects, managing laboratory resources, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Additional information As a member of Research Staff at the University of Bath, you will be encouraged to take up a minimum of 10 days professional development pro rata per year.
