Parkhead Primary School and ELC is a non-denominational school within West Calder. Our staff team is fully committed to working together collegiately as part of the West Calder learning community. We seek an ELC Practitioner who will demonstrate commitment to our visions and values and is motivated to work as part of our team to support positive outcomes for all of our children, developing a high-quality learning environment which promotes challenge, curiosity, and creativity.
The school comprises 15 classes, and our present role of nursery pupils is 66 across 3 Nursery sessions, AM and PM or an option for full-day placement. Staff work flexibly on a rota between the hours of 7.45 am and 6.15 pm and school holidays when our ELC setting will remain open.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. The SSSC stipulates you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC, you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.
