The Apprentice is responsible for delivering exceptional care and education for children whilst undertaking a formal qualification in childcare. The Apprentice works with a team to ensure the nursery is compliant in all areas.
The role of the Apprentice is to support the children’s development in partnership with parents, offering contributions to observations and planning for next steps. As an Apprentice, you will work alongside the nursery team to build strong partnerships with parents/carers and other professionals. You will play an active part in creating a stimulating environment for each child’s individual needs.
The role requires collaboration with others and taking responsibility for working in line with regulatory requirements, BH policies, and procedures to develop the strength and reputation the Bright Horizons brand retains.

11. Have a child-centred approach, ensuring the activities on offer meet the children’s needs and are age-appropriate.
12. Contribute to children’s records through observation.
13. Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
14. Work alongside your assessor including attending all training required for completion of the formal qualification.
15. Manage your time to complete required coursework in the given timeframe.
16. Drive your own development through active participation in appraisals, one-to-ones, and requesting supervisions where required.
17. Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers, taking a BOLD approach to stand out amongst competitors.
18. Complete your Level 2 Qualification, which will take a minimum of 12 months, and complete your Level 3, which will take a minimum of 18 months.
19. Use reflection to proactively take on board new ideas and initiatives including feedback to enhance your own development.
20. Have experience in any role which includes face-to-face work directly with children, paid or voluntary.
21. Have experience working with babies either in a professional home base or early years provision.
Qualifications Essential:
1. Willingness to undertake formal Level 2/3 Early Years qualification.
2. Ability to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills.
3. Willingness to gain Functional Skills in Maths and English Level 1/2.
Qualifications Desirable:
1. Full and relevant Level 1 (or above) Early Years qualification.
2. A-C grade in Maths and English.
3. First Aid or 12-hour Paediatric First Aid qualification.
