My client is a top tier Civil Engineering Contractor.
They are presently delivering geotechnical and civils improvement works on a major Rail Framework which spans from West London to Bristol.
They are seeking to employ a Site Agent to assist with the timely delivery of projects in this region.
The Site Agent will need to have PTS, and ideally rope access.
Previous experience of working on large scale Rail and Civils project experience is essential.
The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering geotechnical projects.
The company is seeking someone who is commercially strong, who can programme works.
They will also need to be very strong with subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
1. Management of site staff operatives and sub-contractors.
2. Preparing and monitoring programmes of work.
3. Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments and project management plans.
4. Understand tender allowances and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets.
5. Assessment and engagement of sub-contractors.
6. Understand and administer contract change.
7. Inform, consult, and involve local groups as necessary.
8. Foster good relations and reputation with clients.
9. Promote and ensure all work complies with safety, quality and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures.
Requirements:
1. Already experienced as a Site Agent / Project Manager you will have a relevant industry qualification (HND/ HNC/ BEng) or equivalent, an up-to-date SMSTS qualification, and appropriate CSCS and PTS card.
2. Rail and civils project experience is absolutely essential.
3. A First Aid at Work qualification is desirable.
4. Experienced in people management and motivation of staff.
5. A good organiser, both of self and others with the ability to think in advance.
6. Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving license is essential and the successful candidate will be happy to travel throughout our Southern Region.
