OrionGroup are currently recruiting for Quayside Cruise Assistants/ General Operatives to support our Client throughout their busy season between April and October.
Reporting to the Deputy Facility Operations Manager, the successful post holder will provide support across departments and disciplines in this multi-skilled role, with the initial focus being on service base and cruise operations.
Monitoring safe areas and assisting with coordination of facility users
Assist the cruise function; support arrivals and departure operations including welcoming passengers, support quayside logistics, health, safety, security, environment and emergency response
Prepare quayside for vessels’ arrival when required
Assist with maintenance duties including painting, keeping facilities clean and free of debris, washing down quayside when requested
Transport goods and equipment throughout the site
Assist with manual handling; erection and dismantling of the Heras fencing or similar boundaries
Assist with weed control; some of the tasks may include the use of backpack spraying equipment
Assist in grass, gorse and scrub control, including but not limited to use of strimmers and handsaws
Assist with repairs to surfaces, walls, quay, roadway including potholes etc.
Assist with general small works maintenance to the facilities
Assist mooring and unmooring vessels
Assist bunkering operations including, supplying water, fuel to vessels
Carry out general maintenance tasks and winter maintenance duties as required
Support operations co-ordinator
Carry out routine vehicle checks
Available to undertake training and exercises
Ensure the safety of other crew members, passengers, colleagues and facility users and report any deficits
Participate in applicable drills and exercises
Assist the emergency response team if required
Comply with good working and safety practice associated with the post and comply with the Health and Safety Policy set by the company
Adhere to the quality standards set out in the Integrated Management System
Maintain a respectful work environment and comply with company policies

Work pattern:
- Working rotation of 4 days on / 4 days off
- 12-hour shifts (1-hour unpaid lunch break) from 07:00 to 19:00; flexibility is required for start/ finish subject to operational requirements
Once accepted to start, the successful candidates will require to complete a Basic Disclosure Scotland. Cost of the disclosure application will be fully reimbursed.
