Location: Parkhouse Building Carlisle (Working from home available)
Contract: Temporary for 1 year
About this opportunity:
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, ambitious, and motivated individual to join our established HR Systems Team. In this newly created role, you will join a friendly, hard-working, and proactive team who are passionate about developing key systems to support service delivery and deliver high quality customer service.
The HR Systems Team is a key delivery mechanism for the Council's services providing efficient services to its customers, both internal and external, its partners, officers and members, and the Council's Enabling Services principles.
We primarily maintain and develop the Council’s HR and Payroll system (iTrent), providing support to payroll, HR and all managers and employees using the online systems.
Key responsibilities:
As a Systems Development and Information Officer, you will take on a leading role for the support, maintenance, and development of key business management systems, ensuring all appropriate measures are in place, guaranteeing compliance with statutory requirements, and undertaking on-going analysis of the strengths and deficits to support an effective service delivery. Knowledge of working with iTrent Systems for Payroll and HR services is highly desirable.
The role will also involve project management, implementation, and the on-going maintenance of these management systems, and the right candidate will consult with managers and users to drive each part of the project, ensuring timescales are met and there is a data, intelligence, and evidence-based approach.
Who we’re looking for:
The right candidate will be an effective communicator, who can respond to any service and customer requirements, whilst positively influencing those resistant to change. You will support systems users to harness the technology available to them, as well as deliver training and ensure consistency, so the ability to adapt your communication style to the required audience is key.
You will have worked in a large, complex organisation, and have an understanding of relevant local authority performance indicators, procedures, and legislation, including GDPR and Information Security. A team player, who can work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, you will bring innovative solutions and strong problem-solving skills to the team.
Cumberland Council is a modern and supportive employer, and we have both the technology and the commitment to allow our employees to work flexibly and efficiently. Joining this team is an excellent opportunity for professional development, and we support employees with training and mentoring whilst prioritising well-being, ensuring they maximise their talents.
