Job Title: Catering Assistant Location: Cranborne, Dorset Hourly Rate: £12.37 - £12.59 Annual Salary: £22,102.72 - £22,495.81 (FTE £25,729.60 - £26,187.20) Hours: 40 hours a week, term time only We are currently seeking a catering Assistant to join a specialist provision supporting students aged 16-25 with Social, Emotional and Mental Heath Needs and Autism. The Role The support service teams are an essential pillar in enabling the children and young adults to achieve their full potential. The role of the Catering Assistant is to ensure prompt and efficient preparation and service of all meals and to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the catering areas to the required standard. With a strong emphasis on Health & Safety, you’ll be expected to ensure that the catering areas are kept clean and tidy and in collaboration with the Cook and Assistant Cook and ensure that the food service is delivered in a professional, friendly and hygienic manner. You will undertake tasks assigned to you regarding food preparation, cooking, cleaning, serving, and completion of Health and Safety paperwork. Successful candidate qualities: Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards for the catering environment. Knowledge of learning disabilities and/or special needs insofar as they impact upon the support services to be provided including management of individual needs (health, social etc.) and challenging behaviours. Key aspects of Health and Safety legislation.
