Summary
We are seeking a confident and capable Site Manager to head the Site team within an all-through school environment. Focusing on the maintenance and safety of our premises as well as keeping the necessary records for any audits and inspections.
About the role
Main Duties
1. To undertake general maintenance of the school premises, fixtures and fittings. (to include all works on the site improvement plan).
2. Responsible for the maintenance of all outside areas, ensuring all designated areas of the school grounds are maintained in a neat and tidy condition.
3. Responsible for the discharge of the schools health and safety responsibilities.
4. Where necessary manage in the collection and disposal of all refuse and ensure the school grounds are free of litter and graffiti.
5. To ensure, in winter especially, that access roads, pavements, steps and playgrounds are safe for use at all times.
6. Manage site security, unlocking and locking of school buildings at beginning and end of each day within the hours of work (or directing site staff). Checking of security at all times and making sure that windows and doors operate correctly.
7. To take deliveries of stores, materials and other goods and to undertake porterage duties as required (including moving furniture, equipment etc.)
8. To maintain the security of maintenance machinery, tools, equipment and stock. To carry out basic maintenance of all equipment in conjunction with the site team.
9. To ensure all areas of the school buildings in a clean, tidy and hygienic condition.
10. To oversee the external cleaning contract staff, as well as lettings, monitor their attendance and efficiency and report to the relevant company liaison.
11. Monitor cleaning machinery, ensuring its proper upkeep and servicing.
12. Responsible for directing, coordinating, planning and overseeing tasks and operations within the school involving transport.
13. This role involves shift work and requires flexibility, this may will also require out of hours attendance to alarms and emergency situations but will be on a rota basis.
