Role: Logistics Manager\nLocation: South Birmingham\nDepartment: Supply Chain\nReports to: Head of Supply Chain\nSalary: Highly Competative\nHours: Days (4.5 day working week)\nAbout the Role\nWe are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to lead and implement best practices in logistics operations, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods and services both internally and externally. This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving operational excellence, improving supply chain performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.\nKey Responsibilities\nLogistics & Operations\n * Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.\n * Manage logistics operations, working closely with suppliers, transportation providers, and customers.\n * Ensure products are delivered on time, at the right quality, and in the most cost-effective manner.\n * Monitor quality, delivery times, transport costs, and overall logistics performance.\n * Negotiate contracts with carriers and logistics service providers.\n * Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives by optimising logistics processes.\n * Resolve logistics challenges, including import/export issues and customer concerns.\n * Ensure compliance with export regulations, inventory control, and warehouse management best practices.\nInventory & Supply Chain Management\n * Oversee inventory accuracy, ensuring stock movements are well-managed and compliant.\n * Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies, optimising stock levels.\n * Monitor and manage slow-moving and obsolete stock to maintain efficiency.\n * Provide data analysis and reporting to aid decision-making and drive continuous improvements.\nLeadership & Team Development\n * Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing logistics team.\n * Set team objectives, review KPIs, and drive continuous performance improvement.\n * Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies.\n * Foster a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and collaboration.\nWhat We’re Looking For\n * Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation.\n * Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and manage high-performing teams.\n * Experience negotiating contracts with logistics providers and suppliers.\n * Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to drive efficiencies.\n * Knowledge of export compliance, warehouse operations, and inventory control.\n * Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to optimise logistics processes.\n * Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence stakeholders.\nWhy Join Us?\n * Opportunity to lead a critical function within a growing organisation.\n * Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with room for career progression.\n * Be part of a company that values innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.\nIf you’re a strategic thinker with a passion for logistics and supply chain optimisation, we’d love to hear from you
