The Role
As an Assistant Site Manager, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of large-scale residential projects, supporting the Site Manager in overseeing all aspects of site operations. You will help manage a site of over 100 premium units, ensuring homes are built to an exacting standard, on schedule, and within budget. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual with experience in high-volume housing, who is looking to grow their career within a prestigious and dynamic company. Experience in working on award-winning developments and NHBC Pride in the Job awards is highly desirable.
You will be the Site Manager's right-hand person, responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the site and supporting the coordination of trades and subcontractors. Your attention to detail, commitment to quality, and proactive approach to problem-solving will be key to ensuring that the site runs efficiently and safely.
Qualifications
* SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification are essential.
* A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to sites.
Key Experience
* Proven experience as an Assistant Site Manager or a similar role within the residential construction industry, preferably with a Premium House Builder.
* A strong track record of assisting with the delivery of high-volume residential sites (100+ units) on time and within budget.
* Experience working on NHBC-award winning sites or a strong desire to achieve NHBC Pride in the Job awards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Site Coordination & Management:
* Assist the Site Manager in overseeing all on-site activities, ensuring work is completed to the highest quality and in accordance with company standards.
* Help manage site staff, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring tasks are carried out efficiently and to a high standard.
* Work closely with the Site Manager to ensure the project remains on schedule and within budget, while maintaining the required build quality.
* Ensure homes are constructed according to the specified designs, ensuring a meticulous eye for detail in every aspect of the build.
* Support in the delivery of 100+ unit developments, ensuring seamless transitions between different phases of the project.
* Quality Control:
* Assist in monitoring and inspecting the quality of all work carried out on site, ensuring compliance with NHBC and company standards.
* Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that any defects or issues are identified and rectified promptly, ensuring all homes meet our premium standards.
* Support in achieving NHBC Pride in the Job standards, aiming for the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction in all builds.
* Health, Safety & Compliance:
* Ensure all site operations comply with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and always promoting a safe working environment.
* Assist the Site Manager in maintaining accurate health and safety documentation and ensuring that all team members and subcontractors adhere to safety protocols.
* Carry out regular site inductions and toolbox talks to ensure all workers are briefed on site safety and best practices.
* Customer Engagement:
* Support client and customer interactions, conducting site tours and updates on the progress of their homes, addressing any concerns, and maintaining high levels of satisfaction.
* Assist in the handover process of completed homes, ensuring that each property is handed over in pristine condition and all snagging is completed to the highest standard.
* Team Collaboration:
* Work closely with the Site Manager and wider site team to foster a collaborative and productive working environment.
* Provide guidance and support to junior members of the site team, helping them develop their skills and progress within the company.
This is a Permanent Position offering a competitive salary plus benefits package to the successful candidate (£45,000 - £50,000 + Package)
