Job overview
We are looking to recruit a full-time Band 6 Senior Radiographer to work in our friendly radiology department in Haywards Heath.
There has never been a better time to join our team, as the department has recently undergone significant redevelopment works. These include the purchase of brand new, fully integrated, digital x-ray rooms and a new CT scanner, as well as purpose-built patient facilities.
As a Band 6 Radiographer, you will have the opportunity to rotate through several modalities including plain film, CT, fluoroscopy, mobiles, and theatres. The job role will involve participation in the out of hour’s rota.
The Trust’s specialised and tertiary services include arterial vascular surgery, neonatal, paediatrics, cardiac, cancer, renal, infectious diseases, and HIV medicine.

Main duties of the job
* The radiographer will be expected to work in all areas of Imaging on the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) site.
* Undertake a wide range of clinical duties to the highest standard, utilising a range of complex radiographic equipment.
* Ensure departmental adherence to x-ray regulations (IR(ME)R, IRR) and UHSx policy/guidelines/protocol.
* Actively participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.
* Support the Superintendent radiographer to ensure that the day-to-day running of the imaging department is smoothly coordinated.
The post-holder will be expected to participate in the out of hours (OOH) and extended working day rotas providing 24-hour cover for the PRH site.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Be able to use the full range of radiographic equipment within the department, including general, mobile, theatre work, fluoroscopy, and CT.
* To achieve and maintain a high standard of CT scanning and to support the out of hours CT service.
* Maintain expert clinical practice and support colleagues to do the same, providing and teaching high standards in all imaging techniques undertaken.
* To have the knowledge to adapt technique and know when further imaging or change of protocol is required.
* Liaise with the appropriate radiologist if clinical input is required and ensure any change of practice is adequately documented and communicated.
* Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to local department policies.
* To ensure that the local rules, associated codes of practice, guidance notes, and the Health and Safety at Work Act are understood and adhered to in respect of staff, patients, and members of the public.
* Mobile radiography will include being able to take a range of radiographic equipment to patients that are too ill or seriously injured to attend the Imaging department.
