Job overview We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and talented chef to produce traditional, home-made and, where possible, locally sourced food. Our large production kitchen produces meals for our patients and self-service restaurant. Main duties of the job Responsibilities will include: • Preparation and cooking dishes from fresh ingredients • Ensuring all dishes are properly cooked and attractively presented • Preparing meals to the amounts forecasted, exercising the required level of portion control • Assisting with function catering as required The successful applicant must have previous experience in a chef position in a quality-driven establishment. The ideal candidate will need to be motivated and have a genuine passion for food and quality to make a real difference to our patients. You will be able to work in a busy environment and thrive under pressure. This is a full-time position 37.5 hours per week, although part-time of 30 hours may be considered, worked on a shift pattern between the hours of 6.30 am and 7.00 pm Monday-Sunday. The successful candidate will be expected to work some weekends on a 4 week Rota, and enhancements are paid for weekend shifts and overtime.
