Payroller vacancy - based in Milton Keynes, MK10

Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Payroll professional to have full responsibility of the monthly and weekly payrolls. To provide an efficient and accurate payroll service to approximately 200 monthly and approximately 500 weekly paid employees.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Produce and manage the entire monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
2. Serve as the subject matter expert for Sage and Crown T&A systems.
3. Administer pensions, manage deductions, and ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
4. Generate payroll reports to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
5. Maintain and update payroll processes while ensuring adherence to procedures.
6. Oversee fleet management and support payroll audits.
7. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on queries, reports, and requests.
8. Manage P11D production and provide cover for the Payroll & Benefits Manager as needed.
9. Support and review company benefits programs, including pensions, life assurance, private medical, and more.
10. Contribute to payroll and benefits strategy development, exploring initiatives like holiday buying and selling schemes.
Person Specification:
1. Proactive with a willingness to challenge and improve processes.
2. Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
3. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
4. Skilled in manual calculations of SMP, SSP, payroll, and tax.
5. Strong communicator, delivering professional service to internal and external stakeholders.
6. Confident working independently and collaboratively within a team.
7. Advanced Excel skills and ability to write procedures and LWIs.
8. Business acumen with knowledge of financial and accounting terminology.
9. Excellent analytical skills, both conceptual and practical.
10. Effective at managing workflow and meeting deadlines.
