About Us:
Social Care & Education Jobs are proud to be the chosen recruitment partner for a leading provider of Specialist Education and Supported Living services for children, young people, and adults with disabilities, including Autism. You will be joining a small, dedicated supported living service for young adults aged 19 and above who have complex learning difficulties and display challenging behaviours.
Your Role:
As the Young Adult Team Leader, your primary responsibility will be to support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, deputizing in their absence, to ensure a stable, caring, and nurturing environment where the health, safety, and development of our young adults are prioritized. You will lead a team of support workers, providing both physical and emotional care to the young adults within a residential setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of support workers to deliver exceptional care that promotes the overall well-being, health, and development of the young adults in residence.
Collaborate with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to foster a positive, supportive, and enjoyable environment for our residents.
Take on the role of Shift Leader, ensuring that the staff are well-supported, motivated, and guided in their roles.
Focus on creating a joyful and fulfilling life for our young adults while also ensuring that the care team enjoys a supportive and rewarding work environment.
Essential Criteria:
QCF Level 2 in Adult Health & Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
Proven knowledge of effective management practices, including supervision and appraisal techniques.
Strong understanding of learning disabilities and special needs, with an awareness of current developments in the field.
Familiarity with positive approaches to managing challenging behaviours associated with learning difficulties.
Knowledge of equal opportunities, anti-discrimination practices, and how to prevent discrimination.
Awareness of regulatory standards and relevant legislation.
Experience:
Prior experience in a Senior Support Worker role within a residential care setting is essential.
Demonstrated experience in leading or supporting a team working on a rota pattern.
Proven success in working with young people or adults with learning disabilities and special needs.
Experience in planning and organizing activities tailored to the needs and abilities of young adults, ensuring positive outcomes.
Strong background in person-centered planning.
