Gillshill Primary School is looking to appoint a caring, supportive and dedicated Achievement Support Assistant. The role will involve supervising and caring for a pupil with Special Educational needs on a 1:1 basis. This position is fixed term and will end when the child leaves the school.The successful candidate will:Provide effective 1:1 support to maximise attainment following targets set out in support plans.Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence.Have a knowledge of children with SEND and or emotional/behavioural needs.Support the child with early development needs including speech and language.Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities where appropriate.Attend any relevant training where necessary.Further information regarding the post can be found in the job description.
