What's involved with this role: Interim PT Solicitor/Lawyer - Litigation Reference no: Cambridge 5250762 Pay Rate: £30.50 per hour PAYE 30 Monday – Friday, TBC This opening assignment is for 2-3 months City: CAMBOURNE Hybrid - some office attendance for committees at all three offices (Cambridge, Cambourne, Huntingdon) and also court attendance when required This will primarily be a licensing role. Candidate must have full knowledge of licensing law and be able to attendance and advise on Hearing and Committees. Other litigation work will include noise abatement, CPN breaches, food safety prosecutions, etc. Key responsibilities: Give practical, clear, accurate and full legal advice to Council officers within the area of law allocated to the post. Be responsible for conduct of the legal cases allocated by the Principal or Senior Lawyers. Carry out legal research. Develop and apply procedures relevant to the main area of responsibility for the post, or as directed by the Principal or Senior Lawyers. Adapt and apply legal precedents and to draft documents including documents that require original thought, appropriate to the level of the post. Assist with work allocated to Principal or Senior Lawyers. Deliver accurate, prompt, cost effective and customer focused legal services to the Partnership Commensurate with the level of the post to provide or assist with the provision of training and guidance to colleagues within the Legal Practice and within other Partnership Services. Attend and contribute to team meetings and to actively participate in Legal Practice projects and initiatives including development of effective precedents and procedures. Carry out any other duties as required by the Head of Legal Practice or Principal or Senior Lawyers from time to time, in accordance with the grading of the post.
