Job summary We are seeking to recruit staff for a full time Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to our Central Northumberland Community Treatment team based at Greenacres in Ashington. Via our ongoing service improvement models we seek to recruit a suitably qualified person who is dynamic and motivated with a specific interest in the provision of top quality secondary level mental health care within the community. The successful applicant will possess good communication and interpersonal skills, be focused and well organised and have the ability to be flexible and responsive as well as demonstrating a positive, caring and compassionate attitude to this role. As a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist you will also be required to offer supervision and support to other members of the team. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated support for communication; providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation as required. They will need to be confident in providing high quality, evidence based assessments and interventions and have an understanding and experience of working with people with a range of complex issues. Liaison with community services and partner organisations will be a significant part of this role. They will possess excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work independently.There will be a requirement to share knowledge and skills specific to speech and language therapy, to other members of the team including stakeholders. They will contribute to, write and review care plans and provide high quality patient centred care. They will have a varied caseload and will work closely with the Advanced Speech and Language Therapist within the Speech and Language Pathway. They will be expected to support and supervise students.
