Role Summary
The Volunteer Driver Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteer drivers to ensure the efficient and safe transportation of service users. The role involves working with service users to identify their transport needs, scheduling journeys, maintaining records, and fostering a supportive environment for volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
* Recruit, train, and manage volunteer drivers.
* Coordinate driver schedules and assign transportation requests.
* Ensure all volunteers comply with safeguarding, health & safety, and insurance policies.
* Monitor and assess volunteer performance, providing ongoing support and recognition.
Requirements
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate volunteers.
* Patient and can-do attitude.
* Ability to manage schedules efficiently and problem-solve on the go.
* Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality procedures.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* A valid UK driver’s license and ability to drive LJWB vehicles safely.
