Purpose of the post:
To support with the continued efficient, cost-effective, safe and environmentally considerate maintenance of the Waste Treatment Plant and mobile plant through technical expertise through an efficient planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule and continuous improvement regime.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Supervision of the maintenance and cleaning team on nights.
2. To co-ordinate all planned maintenance activities for the fixed plant.
3. To give direction to and be the first point of contact for maintenance and cleaning staff.
4. To ensure effective, efficient and safe use of resources.
5. Ensuring parts and stock removal is recorded.
6. Working with the Maintenance Manager to ensure PPM’s and cleaning regimes are completed each night.
7. To develop ways of measuring and improving maintenance activities for continuous improvement.
8. To mentor the nightshift team and develop their skill base.
9. Issue and monitor permits/risk assessments/safe systems of work.
10. Working effectively and safely with external contractors.
11. Raise issues with staff as they arise in line with HR policies.
12. Liaise with the Maintenance Manager and HR Manager regarding staff issues and HR matters as applicable.
13. Conduct health and safety investigations as required.
14. Monitoring the area standards and cleanliness.
15. Participate in building and maintaining a strong health and safety culture within the organisation and people.
16. Attend training and develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills as required.
17. Adhere to Company policies and procedures at all times in particular the Company’s Health and Safety policy.

6. Good standard of literacy and numeracy (essential).
7. Good organisational time management skills (essential).
8. Good verbal and written skills - able to communicate at all levels (essential).
