Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with the patience, resilience, and skills to support a child with challenging and violent behaviour? We are looking for a 1:1 Support TA to work with a pupil in Leyland who requires structured, compassionate, and consistent support to navigate their learning environment.
This role is ideal for someone with strong behaviour management skills who can implement de-escalation strategies and foster a calm, structured, and positive learning atmosphere. If you're proactive, empathetic, and committed to making a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 tailored support for a child with challenging and violent behaviours.
2. Implement effective behaviour management strategies and work closely with school staff and SEN specialists.
3. Foster a calm and structured learning environment to support emotional regulation.
4. Use positive reinforcement techniques and de-escalation strategies.
5. Maintain detailed records of the child's progress and behavioural incidents.
6. Liaise with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to create and implement individualised support plans.
7. Support the child both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring their safety and engagement in learning.
Requirements:
1. Experience working with children with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, or violent behaviour.
2. Strong ability to de-escalate situations and remain calm under pressure.
3. A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting children with complex needs.
4. Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) or significant relevant experience.
5. Experience in positive behaviour support strategies (Team Teach, MAPA, or similar training preferred).
6. Ability to build trusting relationships and engage with children effectively.
7. An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
