I2, a Harris Computer company, are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Defence & Security Subject Matter Expert, working in Business Development role with a specific focus on the Defence and Intelligence market.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive industry expertise, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record working within or supplying to these markets.
This position is paying an OTE, dependent upon performance, of up to 200K per annum.
What you will do
In performing this position, your core duties and responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):
Market Analysis and Strategy Development:
1. Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify opportunities within the Defence and Intelligence sectors that have yet to be exploited by i2.
2. Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with company goals.
Client Engagement and Relationship Management:
1. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, military organisations, and intelligence bodies.
2. Engage with clients to understand their needs, propose tailored solutions, and secure long-term partnerships.
Proposal Development and Negotiation:
1. Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals, bids, and presentations for potential clients.
2. Work with local sellers and Business Development VP to support negotiations of contract terms and conditions, ensuring favourable outcomes for the company.
Industry Expertise and Thought Leadership:
1. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes.
2. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and seminars as a thought leader and expert.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
1. Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, marketing, customer success and legal, to ensure seamless project execution.
2. Provide insights and guidance to product development teams to align offerings with market demands.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
1. Track and report on business development activities, including pipeline status, conversion rates, and revenue generation.
2. Provide regular updates to senior management on progress and strategic initiatives.
What we are looking for
1. A Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or relevant experience.
2. 5+ years of experience working with or within the Intelligence functions of Defence and/or Intelligence sectors.
3. A demonstrable understanding of the Intelligence Processes of the defined market and how technology can be applied to these processes.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.
5. Strategic thinker with the ability to identify market trends, opportunities, and competitive threats.
6. Ability to travel as required for client engagements and industry events, predominately in the UK and Europe, with occasional travel globally.
Preferred Attributes
1. Security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
2. Established network of contacts within the Defence and Intelligence community.
3. Experience with international defence markets and export compliance.
4. Working knowledge of Intelligence Analysis tools and processes.
