Linguist for Customer Services (German, French and English)
Calling all linguists with an interest in customer service, languages, travel, design, software, and solving problems. At AVA, we make a bespoke software solution for the decorative printing industry using Apple technology for macOS. This is used for a variety of purposes, but if it’s printed and not a book, magazine, signage, etc., then it is likely its origin is in AVA (think fashion, home furnishings, and even parts of cars!). We are expanding and looking to increase our pool of talented staff to contribute to and support our ever-growing portfolio of products.
Come and join our diverse, dynamic, talented, and energetic team of runners, mountain bikers, climbers, musicians, movie buffs, gamers, animal lovers, creatives, and much more at our HQ based in Macclesfield. Set at the bottom of the Peak District in the stunning Cheshire countryside, whilst also just a stone’s throw from metropolitan Manchester, it’s a beautiful place to both work and play. All our ‘AVAtors’ are hand-picked for their individual skills to support and service our worldwide client base and partners. We employ people from a wide range of backgrounds, but currently we are looking to hear from you if you are willing to learn new skills and have the following qualifications:
* Fluent English, French and German
* Proven ability to travel and work alone when necessary
* ‘People skills': the ability to work well as part of a team and to establish warm relationships with customers across multiple industries, nationalities, and cultures
* Evidence of ability to work hard and strong drive to outperform expectations
* Based in Macclesfield but willing to travel
* Prior experience in decorative or textile design (or a related field) is an advantage but not essential
* Knowledge of AVA or other (Mac-based) design and colouring software is an advantage
* Customer Service or Sales experience
Based in Macclesfield (Cheshire) in the Peak District – just half an hour from Manchester and two hours from London – it is an attractive place to live and work once fully trained. You will be asked to travel all over the world demonstrating and testing the software, training customers and providing technical support. You will be expected to work the majority of your time from AVA HQ in Cheshire; there will be some remote working ability.
Some of the perks working at AVA:
* Private Health Care
* Sick pay
* Free membership to local golf course and leisure centre
* Small successful company

* No limits on the speed of your career progression
Start date: We are looking to start someone as soon as possible (but we would be willing to wait for successful candidates to serve notice periods/finish current).
Position: Full-time
Salary can increase very quickly with increased knowledge and responsibilities. Those accepting a job with AVA are asked to make an initial contractual commitment of 2 years. After that, it is up to us to make sure that it is worth their while to stay—we place a big premium on experience, and many of our team members have been with us for most of their working lives.
How to apply: If any of the above sparks your interest, or if you know of someone it might, simply send a cover letter and copy of your CV to Debbie Buchan at hr@avacadcam.com.
Applications from candidates currently living outside the UK but with the right to work here (e.g., all EU citizens and anyone else holding a valid UK working visa) are welcomed, and successful applicants will be given assistance in relocating.
Please note that if you currently work for a customer of AVA, we maintain a strict policy of not accepting job applications from people currently employed by existing AVA customers other than with the express authorisation of the current employer.
We think this is a fabulous opportunity to join our team of AVAtors, and we very much look forward to hearing from you. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the role further prior to application, you can also contact Debbie Buchan.
